LACHELLE BINION

Board Chair

Lachelle Binion, MBA is a nonprofit and event planning professional with over seven years’ experience working with organizations in the areas of strategic programming, engagement, and nonprofit fund development. Within her current position, she works to assist her team with strategic planning, engagement, programming, and fundraising strategies..


In 2019, Lachelle founded The Nonprofit Tribe a boutique nonprofit consulting firm in which she helps organizations with the tools, resources to be strategically aligned, vision-led, mission-impacted and is the current director of entrepreneurship with Catapult Greater Pittsburgh in which she is responsible for the operational success of the Entrepreneurial programs within the Asset Building pillar of the organization.


As a graduate of Carlow University’s MBA (2013) and Masters of Organizational Leadership (2011) programs, Lachelle has held roles in the fields of Marketing, Community Relations, and Nonprofit Development.


Active in her community she serves as a board member of the Shady Lane School, Chair of the Board of Cultivating Resilient Youth and recently served a member of the Adagio Health Young Leaders Council, 2016 Chapter President for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Black MBA Association and 2015 President of the YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh Young Leaders Board.

KASHIF HENDERSON

Vice Chair

Kashif Henderson has been with Pittsburgh Public Schools since 2009 where he taught high school and middle school social studies. Currently, Kashif serves as the K-12 Gifted and Talented Coordinator where he is responsible for implementing equitable learning opportunities and establishing systems for academic success. Kashif Henderson has years of experience delivering teacher professional development at the school and district level. During his years as a classroom teacher he has mentored inspiring teachers from the University of Pittsburgh’s Urban Scholars Program and was selected by Pittsburgh Public Schools to work with a team of highly effective teachers to support teaching practices for new and veteran teachers.  Equity, educational justice and access are at the forefront of Kashif’s work. He coordinates teacher development opportunities to expand teacher capacity to inspire and improve the academic talents and performance of students with a focus on improving outcomes for underserved Black and Brown students.

ANGELICA COOPER

Executive Secretary

Ms. Angelica Cooper is a School Counselor at Pittsburgh Faison K-5. She started working in schools doing teen programming, eventually becoming a Substitute Teacher and Project Assistant before her current role. Born and raised in Pittsburgh she attended all Pittsburgh Public Schools including Fulton, Reizenstein, and Peabody, and then on to Chatham College, and IUP for her Master's degree. She loves kids and has 4 awesome children of her own. When she is not working she likes to spend her time with her family, going to the movies, going out to eat, playing games, spending time outdoors and traveling.
